Is it summer yet? Sure feels that way, since we just had a vacation visit from the cousins! Yayayay!
It was too short, but we’re hoping for another visit in, oh, 4 or 5 days? If we’re lucky? Hope you enjoy the photos.
So California is managing to be bankrupt and overtaxed at the same time. But … surf and snow in the same week … we’re staying!

What’s an olallieberry, you ask? We didn’t know either, until we picked some with Jan & Emily.
(BTW, an olalliberry has the physical characteristics of the classic blackberry, but it is genetically about two-thirds blackberry and one-third red raspberry. Now you know.)
Thanks to our friends Izzie & Charles & Gabriella & Juliana, we spent a fun weekend in Tahoe City. H got his first real snow experience and E got to try out cross-country skiing.
Its almost enough to make you want to live somewhere snowy. Here are a couple dozen pictures of the occasion (and don’t forget to check out the cuteness going on across the hall.)
We’re back, with two new galleries this weekend. Here’s the first, a bunch of photos from our “summer” “vacation”, a quick trip to Palm Springs to celebrate our friends Garland & Brad’s marriage. It was hot, but fun.
Speaking of parties, tune into the next post for Eva’s fourth birthday!
Some of you may know that we’re in the midst of selling our place and moving to the ‘burbs. Buying, selling, moving, and the related schedule chaos isn’t keeping us busy enough, so we decided to update the website, too. Here’s another good-sized set of photos from this month and last, including a trip to see a bunch of Dempseys in So. Cal.
Next time, photos of the new place! (Can’t promise when that will happen…)
Happy New Year everyone! Yes, we’re late with the greetings, just as we’re late with the Christmas photo gallery. Our apologies. No excuses except the usual one . . . things are busy around here!
More photos, video and news to come, and sooner (we promise hope.)
If you’re reading this post, you probably know about the whole rowing thing with us. These days, there’s pretty much only one rowing regatta worth Training-with-a-capital-T for, and that’s the Head of the Charles every October in Cambridge. Even if we’re not racing (which seems to be more often than not so far this century), being at the HOCR is like being at a big reunion weekend, and so we try not to miss it, even with airline travel being what it is.
This year Greg & Geoff had an entry in the Championship Double event, and we had the added incentive of a wedding the next weekend in Boston, and a mom-mom who hadn’t yet met the newest klingantoni, so we decided to make an extended vacation out of it, and stayed in town for a long ten-day trip. The weather was (mostly) great, the kids were awesome in the face of lots of flying/driving/schlepping, much fun was had, and many photos were taken.
With that kind of build up, you might expect our photo gallery to actually include, well, some pictures of rowing. Erm … nope. But if you want to see some pictures of G & G in the actual race, let us refer you to the professionals here, here, here, and/or here.
Enjoy, and thanks for the emails!
